Work with us
Who we are
The Devonshire Group comprises charities and businesses throughout the UK, including Chatsworth which sits within the Derbyshire Estate, Bolton Abbey Estate in Yorkshire, Lismore Estate in Ireland, luxury hotels, shops and restaurants.
The group employs approximately 1,000 colleagues across their estates which spread over 65,000 acres.
What makes us a special place to work
We are a warm and friendly bunch and our employees and volunteers are proud to work here. They love to tell us directly and through our annual survey that they enjoy working with us, are passionate about what they do and share our values of always improving, decency and being inclusive. This is evident in every corner of our diverse organisation.
Fulfilling Careers
We believe in promoting from within and providing opportunities that allow our colleagues to realise their full potential. We recruit roles from trainees/apprentices through to senior leaders, part-time and casual opportunities through to full-time and permanent, always looking for real difference. One of our tangible values is Inclusivity and we want candidates that bring something unique. We want our colleagues to feel that they can be themselves at work.
We are a unique organisation with hugely varied roles and we welcome candidates with different backgrounds, as we believe this makes us stronger.

Colleague benefits
We are committed to ensuring the happiness and wellbeing of everyone in the Devonshire Group and have a range of fantastic benefits for our colleagues.
Colleague recognition
We love to recognise our colleagues, and run schemes to publicly acknowledge their great work both with customers or visitors, and equally by supporting their colleagues or communities.
Training & development for all
We support our colleagues at every level with opportunities to train and upskill, with their professional development, or through gaining additional qualifications accredited through for example the Institute of Leadership and Management.
We take the development of our people seriously, and like nothing more than to see colleagues move between departments to gain new skills (our colleagues are often multi-skilled across our businesses), gain a promotion or mentor trainees and apprentices. For us this contributes to our success and our colleagues have great stories of their development with The Devonshire Group.
We recently introduced our Devonshire Hospitality Academy to develop talent across the organisation, and we place significant effort into the development of our colleagues to ensure that we are never complacent.
